Welcome!

Hello to all Grade 2 students and parents, welcome to a new school year at St. Jude's Academy! I am Miss Baimas and I am thoroughly looking forward to working together for an action packed and exciting year of learning!

About your Teacher

I am from the United Kingdom and recently moved to Toronto, Canada. I am both a fully-qualified teacher in the UK and Ontario with OCT certification. I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status. Upon graduating, I worked full-time as a Year 5 teacher in a three-form entry school in Derbyshire. I then decided to return to postgraduate education and completed a Masters of Arts degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Manchester under the HEFCE Scholarship scheme. In and out of my studies I worked as a private tutor and as a primary occasional teacher across Greater Manchester, where I taught a range of subjects across the Nursery to Year 6 age range.
I have been visiting Toronto for the past few years and I have been a volunteer in a range of schools across Ontario. My diverse teaching experience also extends globally, including schools in Africa and South America.
