Day
6
Our morning began with mathematics where the students recapped
their learning from yesterday on how to complete a survey. The students then
exercised these skills by conducting a survey on ‘Which continent are children
in Grade 2OJ from?’.
As a class the students went to Grade 2 OJ and completed their
survey.
We then had P.E. with Mr. H, followed by UOI. In UOI
we looked at cultural celebrations from around the world and had to write as much
information as we could about the given celebration. I was very impressed to
note how much the students were able to recall from our unit. Well done Grade
2!
We were also surprised with visitors from Grade 2 OJ who also came to complete a survey with our class.
After that we had first lunch and recess followed by International Day preparation. We began by reading the story 'Odysseus and the Wooden Horse' and learnt about how the Greeks were deceptive to win the the battle against Troy. Then the students collected their information on Greece and decided on how to create
their display board.
They then grouped into research teams and created their section
for the board.
Our day ended with second lunch and recess, French with Mlls.
Jessica and circle time.
