Day 4
Welcome back! I hope that you have all had a wonderful
winter break!
Our morning began with a sharing opportunity. The students
each told the class about something exciting they did over the winter break.
We then had mathematics where the students completed a
pre-assessment for our new unit ‘Data Management and Probability’.
The students then had P.E. followed where we played ‘Hot Dog
Tag’ and used different modes of travel to pay (eg. running, hopping, crawling
etc.).
After that the students were introduced to their new novel
study ‘Horrible Harry and the Holidaze’. The students made a prediction of what
they thought the story would be about based on the title and front cover.
We then had first lunch and recess followed by library. In
the library the students were given the opportunity to change their reading
book.
After that we had UOI where we discussed New Year
celebrations and New Year Resolutions. The students then made their own New
Year Resolutions and placed them into a rocket time capsule. The students will
open the rocket at the end of the academic year to see if they met their goal.
We then had second
lunch and recess, followed by French. Our day ended with agendas and we read
chapter 1 of our novel study.

- Students will be discussing their international day
information tomorrow in class.
- Spelling and cursive will begin next week.
- Please also check uniform. A nameless blue vest, size 10-11, has gone missing (just before Christmas) and as it was new, the parent is keen to have it returned. Thank you for your support and co-operation in this matter.
