Day 5
Our morning began by welcoming our newest member into our
classroom. We then focused on how different items can be sorted in Mathematics.
Our thinking was extended when we introduced a Venn diagram and students had
certain objects that could be placed into two categories. We will be continuing
this concept this week.
We then had gym with Mr. H followed by language. In language
today we focused on nouns. The students were placed into group and had to sort
various nouns into ‘person’, ‘place’ or ‘think’. In their groups the students
challenged one another to see which group could complete the task most efficiently.
The students then had an opportunity to complete the task individually.
After first lunch and recess, we continued looking at our
UOI on ‘Life cycles’. As a class we compared the similarities and differences
between the life cycle of a frog and the life cycle of a chicken. The students
were then given the opportunity to complete the life cycle of a frog and use subject-specific
vocabulary to create captions.
After second lunch and recess, the students had French with Mademoiselle
Jessica. Our day ended with agenda writing and spelling practice.

distributed. This trip is for our second UOI topic and we kindly ask that the
respond form be returned to school at your earliest convenience.

Students will need to bring pictures of
themselves to create ‘My Own Life Cycle’. We kind ask that these pictures are photocopies
and not originals.
