Day 2
Our morning began in mathematics where the students
continued to develop their addition skills. The children were required to add
dimes to find money amounts and use a written method to add groups of 10 to
one- and two-digit numbers.
After mathematics we had handwriting practice. Students were
given the Aesops Fable ‘ The Tortoise and the Hare’, which we read together and
discussed the moral. The students then wrote out the fable in their neatest
cursive handwriting.
We then had first lunch and recess followed by UOI. In UOI
the students were given a group challenge on ‘Birthday Celebrations’. As a
class we read a passage, the students had to work as a team to answer series of
questions using the information they had learnt.
After that, the students were given an opportunity to finish
their fine art and work on writing a list for planning a birthday party.
We then had second lunch and recess, followed by French and
agendas.
