Day 1
Our morning began in mathematics where the students were
solving addition and subtraction word problems. The students had to interpret
what the problem was asking them to do and then they had to write a number
sentence to show their understanding and answer.
Some students also wrote their own word problems which we
shared and solved as a class.
After mathematics, the students had P.E with Mr. H followed
by novel study. In novel study we read chapter 6 of charlotte’s Web and then
wrote a prediction about what we think might happen in chapter 7.
We then had first lunch and recess followed by grammar. In
grammar we looked at adding detail to sentences. We discussed how each sentence
must at least have a noun and verb in it. An interesting sentence would also
include adjectives, and answer at least two of the question words (who, what,
when, where, how). As a class we
improved simple sentences to make them more interesting.
We then went to music with Mr. Andrei, followed by UOI. In
UOI the students began planning their summative project.
After that we had second lunch and recess, followed by
French and agendas.
