March 29



A tremendous Thursday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’ Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we had mathematics where the students continued their work on demonstrating time to the hour on analogue clocks.



The students discussion then led to the function of digital clocks.




We then had recess followed by phonics and Show and Tell. In phonics they students continued to explore the phoneme ‘ERer’.

In Show and Tell the students brought in items from their March Break to share.












We then had lunch and recess.
 Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by Birthday Circle.
 We then had afternoon recess followed by choosing.

Key information:
-          Term 2 Report Cards sent home today.
-          Reading books to be sent home next week.
-          Spelling dictation begins next week.
-          No school Friday (March 30th) and Monday (April 2nd).

A wonderful Wednesday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’ Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we had mathematics where the students continued their work on analogue clocks. The students shared their experiences of ‘time’ in their home. They also used their own personal clocks to show given hourly times.



We then had recess followed by phonics and P.E with Miss. Cranfield. In phonics we discussed the phoneme ‘ERer’ and practiced the letter formations.

After that we had lunch and recess.

Then, our afternoon began with Show and Tell where the students brought in items from their March Break to share.






We then had recess followed by French with Mme. Viellenueve.

Key information:
-          All students are invited for Show and Tell this week. Students are invited to bring something from their March Break to share. Show and Tell will continue tomorrow.
-          Easter Spirit Day tomorrow.
-          Birthday Circle tomorrow.
-          Term 2 Report Cards go home tomorrow.
-          Reading books to be sent home next week.
-          Spelling dictation begins next week.
-          No school Friday (March 30th) and Monday (April 2nd).

A terrific Tuesday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we had mathematics where the students began a new topic on time. The students investigated where they can see ‘time’ in the classroom and discussed the difference between digital and analogue clocks.



The students then explored the features of an analogue clock and made their own clock out of paper.



We then had recess followed by phonics where we continued to explore the phoneme ‘UREure’.
                                              
After that the students finished yesterday’s card making activity.

 Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by Easter related art..






Key information:
-          All students are invited for Show and Tell this week. Students are invited to bring something from their March Break to share. Show and Tell will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
-          At home mathematics activity – students are invited to investigate time at home. Tomorrow they should come to school prepared to share where they saw the time around their home (eg. alarm clock, oven etc.)
-          Causal day tomorrow.
-          Easter Spirit Day on Thursday.
-          Birthday Circle on Thursday.
-          Term 2 Report Cards go home on Thursday.
-          Reading books to be sent home next week.
-          Spelling dictation begins next week.

Welcome back! It has been a marvelous Monday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’ Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and sharing our March Break news with Penguin.          
                                 


We then had recess followed by phonics and P.E with Miss. Cranfield. In phonics we discussed the phoneme ‘UREure’ and practiced the letter formations.

After that we had lunch and recess.

Then, our afternoon began with a special card making activity where the students wrote a message to make someone smile.  





Our afternoon ended with recess followed by French with Mme. Viellenueve.

A fantastic Friday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we had Show and Tell students brought in items from home that reminded them of our phonemes from this week.




After that we had recess followed by sorting and choosing.

After that we had lunch and recess.

Then, our afternoon began with a special art activity. The students were greeted with a special guest, Mrs. H, from Dufferin Arts Council – Artists in the Classroom.  The students completed monoprinting and collagraph printing tasks.














Key information:
-          March Break begins.
-          Term 3 begins Monday, March 26th.
-          All uniform (including shoes and extra clothes) has been sent home.
-          Students work from Term 2 has also been sent home.

Next we phonics where the students continued to explore the phoneme ‘AIRair ’.

We then had recess followed by Saint Patrick’s Day activities.
Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by Daily 5 where we listened to a story written by Chloe in Grade 8.





The students were also given the opportunity to ask questions to the author!



We then had afternoon recess followed by French with Mme. Viellenueve.

Key information:
-          Birthday Circle has been rescheduled for after March Break.
-          March Break begins next week.
-          Term 3 begins Monday, March 26th.

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’Canada. Then we had register followed by the calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

After that we had mathematics where the students made prints of coins.





We then had recess followed by phonics and P.E with Miss. Cranfield. In phonics the students discussed the phoneme ‘AIRair’ and then practiced their letter formation of ‘AIRair’.

Our afternoon began with UOI where the students selected work for their IB binder.  
                                              
We then had afternoon recess followed by Drama with Miss. Bhogal.




Key information:
-          St. Patrick’s Spirit Day on Thursday, March 8th.
-          Birthday Circle has been rescheduled for after March Break.
-          March Break begins next week.
-          Term 3 begins Monday, March 26th.
