A wonderful Wednesday!

Today we celebrated Halloween with whole school activities!














After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by phonics where they discussed the phoneme and grapheme for the letter ‘Mm’ and students practiced their letter formation.
  
Our day ended with recess followed by choosing.

-          Kind reminder, please read with your child every night and send the reading books on your child’s ‘Read with Teacher’ day so that new books can be issued.

October 30



A terrific Tuesday!

Our morning began with assembly where the students sang O’ Canada followed by attendance, calendar and 100 days of school.

After that, the students had mathematics where they were introduced to graphs. Students also accurately placed themselves onto the graph.





We then had snack and recess followed by art where the students used paint and their hands to create a Halloween spider picture.



After lunch the students had phonics and French. In phonics, the students continued to explore the phoneme and grapheme of the letter ‘Uu’.



Our day ended with recess followed by story time.

Key information
-        Halloween Spirit day tomorrow - students are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume to school (no masks, no weapons).

A marvellous Monday!

Our morning began with assembly where the students sang O’ Canada followed attendance, calendar and 100 days of school.

After that the students shared their weekend news with Penguin.





We then had snack and recess, followed by phonics and journal writing. In phonics the students discussed the phoneme and grapheme for the letter ‘Uu’ and students practiced their letter formation.

In writing the students completed their Ontario Writing Assessment.

The students in Grade 1 also came to inform the students of their Operation Christmas Child Service project.



After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by UOI where the students continued with their summative project.

Our day ended with recess followed by choosing.

A fantastic Friday

Our morning began with assembly where the students sang O’ Canada followed P.E with Miss. Cranfield.

After that the students had library. As a year group, the kindergarten students went to the library where Penguin read them a story.



We then had snack and recess, followed by Show and Tell and Mathematics.
In Show and Tell the students brought in items to share relating to our phonemes of the week.





In mathematics the students created their own T-Chart survey and collected their data from their peers.






After lunch the students had UOI where they continued with their summative projects.



After that they had French with Mme. Villenueve.

Our day ended with birthday circle and a Terry Fox reward prize of Mr. Rozario and Mr. Playford kissing a pig!

A tremendous Thursday!

Our morning began with assembly where the students sang O’ Canada followed attendance, calendar and 100 days of school.

After that the students had art with Ms. Doucette before having a snack and recess.

We then had phonics and mathematics. In phonics, the students continued to explore the phoneme and grapheme of the letter ‘Ee’.



In mathematics the students began to explore the concept of tallying. As a class, the students created t-charts and asked their peers questions.



After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by UOI. In UOI the students continued with their summative projects.

Our day ended with music with Ms. Bhogal and Mr. Deaken.

After that the students had mathematics where they played ‘Guess what’s in the bag’ which required them to describe objects according to their attributes (colour, shape and size).




We then had snack and recess followed by phonics and UOI. In phonics, the students continued to explore the phoneme and grapheme of the letter ‘Ee’.

In UOI the began creating their summative projects.



After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by French with Mme. Villenueve.

Our day ended with a story.

After that, the students has mathematics where they began their new unit on Data Management. As a class, the students sorted objects according to varying attributes (eg. colour, size or shape).




We then had snack and recess followed by phonics and writing. In phonics, the students continued to explore the phoneme and grapheme of the letter ‘CKck’.

In writing the students wrote a list of parts of a plant.



After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield and UOI. In UOI we discussed the summative project as a class and students selected their food for their project.

Our day ended with recess followed by story time.

In journal writing the students discussed features of a list and began writing a list of farm yard animals.



After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by French with Mme. Villenueve.

A fantastic Friday

Our morning began with assembly where the students sang O’ Canada followed attendance, calendar and 100 days of school.

After that the students had library where Penguin read them a story.  





We then had snack and recess, followed by Show and Tell and mathematics.

In Show and Tell the students brought in items to share relating to our phonemes of the week.



In mathematics the students explored the term ‘less’.  They used two hoops, counted how many objects were inside and had to identify which one had less.





After lunch the students had UOI and P.E. with Miss. Cranfield.

In UOI the students cut our pictures of food and stuck them into the group that shows the part of the plant that they come from.




Our day ended with choosing.
