A marvellous Monday!

Our morning began with assembly where the students sang O’ Canada followed attendance, calendar and 100 days of school.

After that the students shared their weekend news with Penguin.

We then had snack and recess, followed by phonics and journal writing. In phonics the students discussed the phoneme and grapheme for the letter ‘Uu’ and students practiced their letter formation.

In writing the students completed their Ontario Writing Assessment.

The students in Grade 1 also came to inform the students of their Operation Christmas Child Service project.

After lunch the students had P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by UOI where the students continued with their summative project.

Our day ended with recess followed by choosing.

Key information

-        Photo Retake Day next Thursday: Please let Mrs. Burke know if you would like a photo retake for your child.

-        Uniform – Please ensure all uniform is labelled.

-        Kind reminder, please read with your child every night and send the reading books on your child’s ‘Read with Teacher’ day so that new books can be issued.

Helpful tip: Cover up the pictures and encourage your child to use their phonological awareness to sound out each word and then blend together to say the word

(eg. /s/ /a/ /t/ - sat).
