Day 6
Today in mathematics the students were required to make
estimations of large quantities. The students used a group of 10 to estimate a
total, and then count in groups of 10s and leftovers to determine a total.
The students then took a handful of cubes and were asked to
estimate the number. The students then placed the cubes over their ten-frames and
were asked to count them and check their estimation.
The students then went to P.E. with me where we played the
games ‘Beans’.
After gym the students had their spelling test.
We then had first lunch and recess, followed by novel study.
In novel study we read Chapter 9 of Charlotte’s Web and then wrote a prediction
on what we believed Charlotte’s plan would be to save Wilbur.
We then had UOI. In UOI we tracked the progress of our beans (see photos of our beans at the end of blog) and watched the last of our summative projects presentations.
Congratulations to all students for the successful
competition of their first summative project this year.
The students then
completed their agendas before going to second lunch and recess.
Our day ended with French with Mlls. Jessica and circle
time.
