A terrific Tuesday!
Our morning began with
assembly where we sang O’Canada. Then we had register followed by the calendar,
the weather and 100 days of school.
Next we shared our weekend news with Penguin.
After that we had recess followed by phonics. In phonics the students discussed the phoneme ‘AYay’ and then practiced their letter formation of ‘AYay’.
Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by Daily 5. In Daily 5 the students were given their first Spelling List. The students discussed how to practice for their spelling test on Friday.
Our afternoon ended with recess followed by French with Mme. Viellenueve.
Key information:
- Scholastic due on Friday, April 6th.
- Reading books will be sent home this week on your child’s reading day.
- Dictation begins this week. List 1 words have been sent home. Included is also a ‘Bonus Words’ sheet and a phonics sounds sheet. The Bonus Words are additional words that your child can learn as a challenge. The phonics sounds are a reminder of the sounds learnt this year to aid in teaching of the Spelling List words.
- Spelling test on Friday.
- For our new Unit of Inquiry, Way to Go!, students will be creating a transportation vehicle that they will design later in the unit. Please see letter sent home for materials to be collected.
